Highland Paradise Koh Samui
Highland Paradise Koh Samui is a must-visit restaurant for anyone spending time on the island, thanks to its remarkable location and consistently high praise from visitors. Situated above Chaweng, this venue offers guests some of the most impressive views in the area, overlooking the town and the Gulf of Thailand. The setting is especially beautiful at sunset, when the sky lights up with colour and the lights of Chaweng start to twinkle below. Guests often find themselves lingering at their tables, simply enjoying the vista.
The food at Highland Paradise is another reason it stands out. The kitchen is run by a chef who grew up on Koh Samui, and his local expertise shines through in the menu. There is a strong focus on Thai classics, but the menu also includes a range of international dishes and vegetarian options. Fresh seafood, aromatic curries, and crisp salads are all popular choices, and the generous portions leave most people feeling satisfied.
Alongside the food, there’s an excellent cocktail list. Drinks are creative and well made, making them a perfect accompaniment to the scenery.
Service at Highland Paradise receives almost universal praise. Staff are known for being friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which helps create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
One of the features that sets this restaurant apart is the Highland Swing. This large swing lets guests glide out over the hillside for an unforgettable thrill and some spectacular photos.
Getting there is straightforward thanks to a shuttle service from the base parking area. This is a welcome touch for anyone who doesn’t want to drive up the steep hill themselves. The shuttle fee is 50 baht per person per round trip and can be added to the bill.
There are many reasons why Highland Paradise has become such a favourite. The views are second to none, the food is delicious and varied, and the cocktails are both inventive and refreshing. The outdoor seating makes it easy to soak up the scenery, while the staff add a genuine warmth to every visit.
A few tips can help you make the most of your visit. Plan to arrive before sunset for the best views and to secure a good spot for photos. Booking ahead is wise during busy times or if you’re coming with a group. Consider using the shuttle service from base parking for convenience. Don’t rush your meal—most people stay up to two hours just taking in everything Highland Paradise has to offer.
For anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience on Koh Samui—with unbeatable views, great food, and a welcoming vibe—Highland Paradise is well worth a visit.

We visited to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful experience. The staff were very helpful, accommodating all our requests and suggesting the best table to enjoy the view. The cocktails were excellent, definitely check out their mojito offer. The food was delicious as well. The only small issue was that the kids’ meals took a bit longer to arrive, so I’d recommend mentioning if you want the kids’ food served early, especially if the adults are having starters.
The views are absolutely stunning—among the best in Samui. I’d suggest making a reservation for 5.30 pm so you can enjoy both the daylight and night-time views, and have plenty of time for photos before ordering your meal. Highly recommended!
