The menu is all about Mexican flavours, all dishes being inspired by recipes expertly crafted by executive chefs Luis and Ezequiel. Guests can enjoy gourmet tacos such as Grilled Chicken Tacos, Carnitas, and Baja Style Fish Tacos, all made with freshly ground corn tortillas imported from the USA for authenticity and quality. The restaurant also offers a variety of burritos, including a classic option and a “giant” 800-gram burrito for those with a hearty appetite. Salads and other Mexican staples cater to diverse dietary preferences.
Complementing the food, Sunrise Tacos Samui serves refreshing margaritas made with 100% Agave tequila and fresh limes, free from pre-made mixes and preservatives. We were invited by Sunrise Tacos Samui on the first day of opening their brand-new branch located within the busy Central Festival shopping complex. As fans of Mexican cuisine, we have had the pleasure of trying out a few Mexican restaurants across the island, each with its unique charm and offerings. However, Sunrise Tacos has certainly stood out from the rest with its commitment to using high-quality ingredients and creating delicious dishes that genuinely capture the essence of authentic Mexican flavours.
During our visit, we sampled a variety of their menu items, including an assortment of tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. Each dish was impressive with lots of flavour and showing the skill of the chefs. The tacos were particularly noteworthy, with fresh toppings and fillings that made them absolutely delicious. The quesadillas were perfectly grilled, with just the right amount of cheese and fillings, while the burritos were generously packed and VERY satisfying.
To accompany our meal, we tried their margaritas, which were fantastic. Expertly crafted with top-notch Patron tequila. Additionally, we tried their horchata drinks, which were equally delightful for our kids (and ourselves 😉 ).
As if that weren’t enough, we also took the opportunity to sample their desserts. We tried both the carrot cake and pecan pie. Even though our hunger was gone, we found ourselves savouring every last bite of both cakes.

The restaurant’s location in Central Festival is great, placing it right in the heart of Chaweng, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists alike. The service was really good too, the team running Sunrise Tacos is super friendly and approachable. Overall, our experience at Sunrise Tacos Samui was delightful, and we look forward to returning to explore more of their menu offerings in the future.
